The worst of all? He doesn't understand why I want to install a new dashboard, a Linux OS, XBMC, or any other home-brew software. "You have a pc, why would you need to surf the internet on your xbox? Why would you need Linux on an xbox?", he asks then. BECAUSE I CAN. Am I the only one who understands that?
We started that discussion because I was looking at a USB hub in a local store. When I explained him I was thinking of buying it so I could add more usb ports to the xbox for a keyboard and mouse, all he could say was "a waist of money" and the previously mentioned "you have a pc...".
I could just strangle him.
He's an actual stereotypical kid of these days:
- he hates school
- he thinks learning stuff is for nerds
- he considers a computer something you can play games on (nothing else)
- he is OK with seeing ads on the internet, or spyware on his pc (I'm not kidding!)
- he downloads new games all of the time, plays them once, and never again
- and considers all of the above normal
I don't think anything else has happened, it's getting quite boring to be honest. I'm actually looking forward to the first of September. Can't wait to be doing stuff again. Some algebra would do wonders.
