I love Archonia

European manga fans know that it is hard to find manga and anime here (except in France it appears). So I was really happy when I found out about Archonia.com a few months ago, which is even located in Belgium!

Stores in Belgium don't sell mangas and if you want to buy them on-line, you'll have to pay huge import/shipping fees. I remember when I bought Death Note that Amazon.com would charge more for the shipping then for the mangas.

Anyhow, I've been looking for Akira a while now and was a bit bothered that Archonia didn't have them. So I sent them a mail asking them if they would add them to their collection and the very next day I got a mail telling me that I could now buy the English and Dutch versions from their site. Awesome.

I learned another thing: English translations are a pure ripoff. The English version of Akira is €20.09, the Dutch version is only €10.66. The French one is even cheaper: €7.97.

So yeah, I'm going to give Dutch translations a try (there is after all a small difference between paying €63.96 or €120.54)
