18

Woops, looks like I forgot to post here for quite some time.
My last post was about the laptop and how the shiping info was wrong... well, it arrived the very next day: I just got home from university when a van stopped in front of my house :D
It's a great machine, Vista was slow as hell so I quickly got rid of it. Feisty had some problems but nothing I couldn't handle. It now runs Gutsy and apart from suspend everything seems to be working just fine.
University rocks by the way, just one course looks dangerous: discrete mathematics. I had a look at when the exams are planned and it appears I'll be spending about 4 weeks (!) at home to study... one would hope that to be sufficient ^^. Back in middle school we had at least one exam a day, for two weeks, with no time off to prepare. You can imagine this is quite a welcome change.
A lot of my friends in uni are mac users, and I have to admit, those macbooks are neat. They're small, light and blazing fast! but I can't help wondering how well Ubuntu would run on it :P

What I've been reading:
  • 20th Century Boys (finished (scanlations, I was tired of waiting))
  • Pluto (BEST manga ever!)
  • Harry Potter 7 (how older I get the more childish Rowling's jokes become...)
What I've been watching:
  • Battlestar Galatica s03 (finished)
  • Taxi4 (too few shots with the taxi IMO)
  • The Bourne Ultimatum (another great Bourne)
  • The Departed
Oh and get this: people think I'm crazy for only listening to classic music and soundtracks/scores! So now I'm being introduced to (what they call) "real" music.
What I've been listening to:
  • Dire Staits
  • Bach Cello Suites (2 different perfomers: Tortelier P. and Fournier P.)
oh, almost forgot: I'm 18 now!

Don't give too much credit to those macs, those people are paying £2k you would expect them to be GOOD! For that much you could get the most amazing alienware that would kick desktop PCs ass! And like u said, all u wud be running is linux :P

Keep up the work, sounds like u got it cut out for ya with this crazy course...

Hi Darth,
Came across your blog while searching for osx86 info. Nice blog! Theatrical scores rock. John Williams is great. I also recommend Hans Zimmer. Good stuff. Kudos again on a cool blog.
